“What’s your problem, Chief? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She started to turn around to grab her water bottle, hoped to purge her suddenly dry mouth, but his hand on her elbow stopped her.

Surprised he would touch her, Alicia’s gave him a wide-eyed look, sure he’d lost his freaking mind. “Get your hands off me. I didn’t give you permission to touch me.”
